After their grand marriage in Chennai on September 11, the newly married couples Suriya and Jyotika spoke to media and thanked their fans and well wishers. Suriya’s father Siva Kumar arranged the press meet on Tuesday afternoon in a city hotel.Siva Kumar started the meet with the apology to the media people for not inviting them for the marriage and he said that he was thought of inviting them for the Reception. But unfortunately the reception was cancelled due to the security reasons. Suriya thanked the media for their full support and cooperation throughout the cine life. Jyotika thanked the media and came out with the announcement that she won’t continue her career in acting instead she wants to become a member of Suriya’s family. This news was really a shock for Jyotika’s fans. Suriya and Jyotika are going to European countries for their Honeymoon.

It was the very much awaited day for everyone in the industry and the fans of Suriya and Jyotika. At around 7 a.m. this morning Suriya tied the sacred thread around Jyotika’s neck. It was an emotional occasion for both Suirya and Jyotika as they have been in love for several years.Jyotika looked great in pink color jari sari with stone works on it. Many leading personalities attended the function which included Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran and the couples in the film industry Ajith, Shalini and Dhanush, Aishwarya. Suriya and Jyotika are to wed on September 11 th and all the arrangements for the wedding are going on in full swing. Suriya and Jyotika were shooting for a song in Switzerland for the movie Sillendru Oru Kadhal when Suriya's father, Sivakumar announced to the media about their wedding. The invitation cards are ready and they to be distributed as the Tamil month of Aadi was over only a few days ago. It is believed that Suriya and Jyotika are to go in person and invite some of the important guest in the Tamil movie industry. The couple has also planned to go for a honeymoon to Switzerland . They have also bought a shopping mall in Mumbai as a part of their future plan.
